Kaduthuruthy was an ancient port and commercial centre Called ‘KADANTHERY’. Its prominence is felt by the fact that it was mentioned in “UNNINEELY SANDESHAM”, the 1st SANDESHA KAVIYAM written in 6th century where ‘AdithyaVarma’ The Prince of Venad was sent as a messenger. It was the Capital City of Vadakankoor Kingdom during AD 1754. Now Kaduthuruthy is famous for its rich Cultural heritage as well as its commercial importance.
